WILD Flavors and Specialty Ingredients at Brau Beviale 2012

Today's hit: cloudy beer-mix drinks

Nuremberg, November 13, 2012 – Flavored beers are the focus of WILD Flavors and Specialty Ingredients’ presentation at this year's trade fair in Nuremberg. The great-taste expert will be presenting its latest product ideas and demonstrating how breweries can create new impetus for growth and reach new target groups. A popular favorite at the moment is cloudy beer-mix drinks, which have a natural image. The demand for products based on wheat beer and non-alcoholic versions is also continuing to grow.

The consumer favorite used to be clear beer-mix drinks, but the current trend now runs towards cloudy versions containing citrus-based juices. These are already a popular success in Germany and especially in Eastern Europe. WILD Flavors and Specialty Ingredients offers the refreshing beverages in versions based on classic beer as well as on wheat beer. Classics such as shandies can also be produced in a cloudy variant, thus creating new tastes for the market and stimulate growth.

Anything goes — if it tastes good

New beer-mix drinks are an especially appealing low-alcohol alternative for younger consumers who like to try new things. There are hardly any limits when it comes to flavoring options, and manufacturers can select from WILD Flavors and Specialty Ingredients’ broad range of products: potential examples include orange and pink grapefruit as well as pear or ginger, and innovative flavors can also inspire growth. WILD Flavors and Specialty Ingredients does not only offer fruity flavors, it also creates compounds which contain juice. At the trade-fair booth in Nuremberg, interested beverage producers can learn more about potential flavorings, concepts which feature juice, and regional flavor preferences.

Non-alcoholic options as an alternative

There is more and more interest in non-alcoholic options when it comes to beer-mix drinks, and cloudy varieties are very popular here as well. In terms of flavor options, in addition to the classic lemon variant, new fruit flavors and concepts with juice such as orange are on the rise. The target group for non-alcoholic beer-mix drinks is very broad, encompassing those who have to drive, the health-conscious consumer and anyone who cannot or does not want to drink alcohol. This trend allows breweries to reach new consumers and create brand loyalty.
