WILD Flavors & Specialty Ingredients at Gulfood 2016

WFSI presents trendy and innovative great-taste solutions

HEIDELBERG-EPPELHEIM/DUBAI, November 7, 2016 – WILD Flavors & Specialty Ingredients (WFSI), a business unit of Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM), will be on site at Gulfood in Dubai, where it will present new malt creations, popular vegan soy-based drinks, high-juice Fruit&Veggie beverages and still drinks. Their trade-fair portfolio also includes contemporary protein bars, confectionery products and baked goods. WFSI’s product palette highlights the many options they offer beverage and food manufacturers when it comes to satisfying consumers' preferences in terms of flavor, texture, nutrition and functionality on an increasingly customized basis.

WFSI Fruit&Veggie Innovations

Taste preferences vary from region to region. One thing that consumers around the globe have in common, though, is that flavor is the most important criterion when it comes to purchasing food and drink. At the same time, many people see it as more and more important for products not only to be natural, but to taste that way as well. ADM's WILD Flavors & Specialty Ingredients offers products with a wide variety of natural flavors and color concepts to satisfy people's demand for naturalness.

Malt: both traditional and trendy
Consumers in Middle East and African countries often prefer intense flavor experiences. As a result, malt has become a popular foundation for many aromatic beverages. WFSI has responded to this significant trend by creating concepts with varying kinds of malt notes. There is also rising consumer interest in "free-from" products, which is why the portfolio includes gluten-free options – in a light version with an aromatic grape note and as a dark malt beverage, either plain or with a hint of coconut-caramel.

Fruit&Veggie: fruity, juicy, refreshing
New launches among vegetables are on the rise, and they go hand in hand with today's dietary habits. The perfect complement here is beverages with an added portion of vegetables. WFSI's portfolio features delicious fruit&veggie still drinks, such as orange-carrot-mango-ginger, to fulfill the strong interest in health and wellness products. Each kind of drink contains harmoniously balanced amounts of fruit and vegetable juices, and they are also available as low-calorie alternatives. Furthermore, WFSI offers concepts with a high juice content – a blend of 50 percent fruit and 50 percent vegetables – as well as options enhanced with blossoms.

Vegan: new products with a push effect
The demand for vegan foods and beverages is increasing around the globe. In Dubai, manufacturers who want to take advantage of this trend can try out WFSI's new soy-drink concepts. The company's current product palette of vegan power drinks are free of animal products and lactose, contain protein, are energizing, and also have important B vitamins. Last but not least, they have a winningly appetizing flavor profile, such as an aromatic chocolate option. “Premium products, excellent expertise in product development and tried-and-true innovative strength make us the preferred partner for vegan concepts,” says Jochen Kistner, Head of Product Management Beverage, WFSI. The trade-fair portfolio of products for the food industry includes soy-based protein bars. Thanks to their composition, they are not only ideal for a vegan diet; they also appeal to consumers who want products with a high protein content.

Enjoyment at its finest: creamy and fruity hard caramels and cookies with a special extra touch
WFSI is also presenting its extensive selection of products for confectionery and baked goods. Among other things, visitors can sample creative flavor creations for hard caramels, which blend popular brown flavors with fruity nuances, such as peach-vanilla, strawberry-popcorn or pistachio-toffee. For new kinds of exquisite cookies, WFSI has developed delicate fillings, and can add pieces of fruit or chocolate chips.

A broad range of product developments
In addition to the concepts mentioned here, those who visit the WFSI booth at the trade fair can look forward to a wide selection of other product developments – something they have come to expect from ADM and WFSI. Beyond that, the company also offers innovative solutions with coloring foodstuffs to replace colorants that have E-numbers.
