Cognis Agreement
In June of 2006, WILD announced an agreement with Cognis Nutrition & Health, a global supplier of natural, health-enhancing ingredients. The agreement enables WILD and Cognis to combine efforts to create innovative flavor systems with health benefits. The newly formed team of global experts has unprecedented resources enabling the production of customized formulations for a wide range of consumer needs. The agreement enhances WILD's position as a leading innovative developer of functional foods and healthy beverages. Within the framework of the agreement, Cognis's ingredients will be incorporated into WILD's flavor systems. Joint teams from WILD and Cognis are currently being arranged to continue to meet customers' needs.
WILD now provides Cognis's Heart Choice™ Sterol Esters under the Heart Choice™ brand to the food and beverage industry. Sterol Esters are an important tool to combat heart disease and high cholesterol. WILD's line of H.I.T.S. -- Health Ingredient Technology & Solutions®--now includes these sterol esters, with more collaborative functional ingredients to come.
